Key Principles

Transformational Change is Big Change

By definition, Transformational Coaching aims at pivotal, lasting changes that result in the client becoming a substantially different person at the end of the process.  A person becomes gradually liberated from undesirable traits, tendencies, behaviors, feelings that have been holding them back, becoming a new being. Though shifts may occur quickly, the process is typically incremental. Transformational Coaching aims high and from a position of unlimited possibility and potential.

Inside Out Transformation

No lasting change occurs without first a shift occurring in a person’s inner being. In effect, they must become a different person on the inside before there are meaningful changes in the external world. There two fundamental ways this manifests: 1) in an obvious but profound sense, a different person makes different choices which produce different results and 2) according to quantum physics, the subject has an effect on what he/she is observing; this means our energy has a subtle effect, but powerful effect on the world outside us.

Transformation Draws on the Universal Life Force

Transformational change requires that we become greater than ourselves. We are limited by who we are and have difficulty going beyond our known self. Personal transformation involves losing one’s self and connecting with the Universal Life Force, which we are all part of, and creating a new self out of that place of communion and unity.

Transformation Involves Mind, Body and Soul

Transformation is holistic. One transformational change impacts everything… all aspects of our being. Transformational change is facilitated by paying attention to all aspects of our being and experiencing how they are interrelated. It can aided by making synergistic changes on different fronts.

Transformation is Uncomfortable
At some point, transformational change becomes very uncomfortable. It involves going beyond the known and part of us does not like this and protests vehemently. Transformational change involves becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable. Ultimately, it means craving the unkown.

Transformation Involves Slowing Down

A simple and profound method for change is to slow down and become aware. Whenever we go through life fast, we are on “auto-pilot”. Our brains have programmed routines to support a fast pace. The major benefit to slowing down, besides being a pre-requisite to change, is that it unfolds and enriches our lives to where we are awestruck and happy to the point of being blissful.

Transformation Presupposes Personal Empowerment

A fundamental principle and belief of transformation is that anything is possible and that we are in control of shaping our lives. While many people do not share this viewpoint to the same degree, Transformational Coaching requires an openness and curiosity to investigating whether this might be true.

Methods and Practices

In-person Sessions in Nature (local) or Video Calls (for non-local)

Ten initial coaching sessions will typically transpire while hiking in nature (for local clients). Nature’s energy is conducive to opening the mind and heart. At the same time, change requires stepping off the treadmill of everyday life, nature provides a supportive context to disengage, reflect, birth and nurture new patterns of being. For distant clients, regular time in nature combined with physical exercise is an integral part of the practice with coaching sessions conducted via phone or Zoom.

Meditation

Meditation is a core means to promote transformation. Transformation cannot occur without increasing self-awareness and going past the analytical mind. There are literally thousands of forms of meditation. Each client, if they do not already have a meditation practice, will develop one that best suits them.

“Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself”

The starting core curriculum of the sessions will be the “how-to” methodology contained in the book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza. This book synthesizes the fields of quantum physics, neuroscience, brain chemistry, biology, and epigenetics to provide the lens through which we’ll view and experience our own consciousness and experience. Sessions and practices will then be personalized around and beyond this point of departure.

Shared Journey

I become a friend and ally on what becomes a shared journey. I am a Player-Coach that is travelling on the same path, sharing my own experience, teaching what I have learned and what I need to learn most. It can be a synergistic relationship that continues for a lifetime.
